Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a pressure measuring apparatus of high accuracy with reduced effect of errors by electromagnetic induction noise by photoelectrically detecting the change of pressure by the use of optical guides such as optical fibers.
CONSTITUTION: When the pressure F to be measured is transmitted via receiving member 15a to a movable optical fiber 13, the optical fiber 13 is displaced in correspondence to said pressure by a spring body 15b constituting movable device 15. When the optical coupling loss between a stationary optical fiber 12 and movable optical fiber 13 displaces according to the displacement quantity of the optical fiber 13, the quantity of light arriving at a photo detector 11 attenuates according to the coupling loss. As a result, it turns out that the quantity of light of the photo detector 11 changes in correspondence to the displacement quantity of the movable optical fiber 13. Hence, photoelectric conversion of the quantity of light propagated through the optical fibers 12 and 13 with the photo detector 11 causes the converted electric signal to correspond to the pressure F and therefore, the pressure measuring apparatus of high accuracy by which the magnitude of the pressure is known from this electric signal may be obtained.
