Abstract

PURPOSE: To crush ore into particles of an optimum size of 3W5 mm in manufacturing granular ore for sintering through crushing thermally crushable iron ore, by feeding the ore from a hopper to the center of a crusher, which is capable of crushing the ore into particles of 35W10 mm, and finally by use of a rod mill.
CONSTITUTION: Thermally crushable iron ore lumps are crushed to pieces 10W35 mm in size by use of primary and secondary crushers 3, 5 and intermediate sieves 2, 4, 6. The ore is once held in a primary fixed quantinty feeding hopper 9, from which a fixed quantity of the ore is fed to the center of a mantle liner 13 and pawl liner of a tertiary crusher 7 in controlled quantity so that the crusher 7 may not be overloaded, preventing the tertiary crusher 7 from being broden because of overload. The ore over 5 mm in size separated by means of a sieve 8 is fed from a secondary fixed quantity feeding hopper 11 to a rod mill 10 while the feed being controlled, where it is crushed. Finally, the ore 3W5 mm in size, which is most suitable as sintering raw material and separated by means of a sieve 12, is delivered to the sintering machine.
