Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the adhesion of unstable substances to the surface of a rotary body after laser processing by forming an oil membrne over the surface of the rotary body before applying laser light thereto. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a rotary body 4 is coated with oil to form an oil membrane 8 thereon. Then, laser light is applied to the rotary body 4 to bore a processing hole at a processing section 5. At the time, the end of a hot and unstable peripheral projection 6 and scattered substances 7 come to contact with the said oil membrane 8. The oil membrane 8 evaporates instantly, and repels explosively the scattered substances 7. The end of the projection 6 disappears, and the scattered substances 7 do not adhere to the rotary body. Thus, a stable projection 9 alone is left at the processing section.
