Abstract

PURPOSE: A polymerization accelerator for adhesive that contains precondensates between thiourea compounds and formaldehyde as effective component, thus accelerating the polymerization of a polymerizing and curing adhesive, increasing adhesion, and lowering the deterioration with passage of time.
CONSTITUTION: A polymerization accelerator that contains precondensates from thiourea compounds of formula I and/or II (R1 is H, R', -CH2-O-R', -CH2-S-R', where R' is 1 W 15C alkyl, phenyl; R2 is H, 1 W 15C alkyl, phenyl; n is 1 W 10) and formaldehyde. The resulting product is used as a polymerization accelerator for polymerizing and hardening adhesives consisting of acrylate monomers and/or methacrylate monomers and organic peroxides. The amount of the polymerization accelerator used is 0.1 W30, preferably 1 W 15 wt% on the basis of monomers.
