Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head used in vertical magnetization system of narrowed track widths by aligning the longitudinal direction of the parallel legs of ferromagnetic material cores to the moving direction of recording media, constituting the cores with laminated thin plates and further constituting the upper bottom part with ferromagnetic material as well. CONSTITUTION:A main magnetic pole 20 is constituted by the core assembly consisting of first, second cores 21, 22 and the upper bottom part 23 coupling both cores. A coil 25 is wound to this core through a window F and the core upper bottom part 23 is constituted by the same ferromagnetic material as that of both cores. A non-magnetic spacer of high conductivity is inserted to the lower bottom part 24. Further at least one out of the first, second cores is constituted by a pair of leg parts of plate form being respectively parallel and a coupling piece coupling these and the shape of one of the leg parts is formed with a curved side 20a approaching gently to a medium 26 and making contact thereto and a linear side 20b crossing this, in the advancing direction A of the recording medium 26.
