Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve the reduction in the thickness of a tape recorder by extending the thrust bearing of a capstan to the inside of a cassette.
CONSTITUTION: If the thrust bearing is constituted through the end face of a bearing 2 and washer 10 or other by mouning a C-form thrust receiving member 9 to the groove 3a of a capstan 3, part of the thrust bearing extends into a cassette 8. This constitution enables the gap between a flywheel 4 and main unit case 7 to be made small as compared to the case when a thrust bearing is provided to the bottom end of the capstan 3, thus making it possible to reduce the thickness of the tape recoder.
