Abstract

CONSTITUTION: If a roller 13 is attached to the leading end of a partition 5 for shielding the direct reflected waves from an ultrasonic flaw detector of transmission and reception separated type, the roller 13 is turned, when a flaw detector 1 passes over the projection of a test piece surface 10, so that it rides over the projection by the raising force of the partition 5. As a result, the leading end of the partition is bent to establish no insensitive band. Since, moreover, the sliding friction is restricted, the partition 5 can be prevented from being damaged. Even if there are roughnesses on the test piece surface, the flaw detection can be improved because the smooth scan is insured by the detector.
