Abstract

PURPOSE: To shorten time required for rescuing passengers confined in the cage when some trouble such as interruption of power supply is caused with the elevator system, by self-driving the elevator to the nearest floor through the drive of an auxiliary motor and stopping the same in a predetermined range of the nearest floor where opening and closing the door is allowed.
CONSTITUTION: In case that power supply is stopped when a cage having an unbalance load is travelling upward in a range other than that where opening and closing of door is allowed, relay 8 for detecting interruption of power supply is de-energized but timing relay 14 for upward drive of elevator is energized. Here, if the cage speed is higher than a predetermined value, brake coil 10 is de-energized to actuate brake, whereby the cage speed is decelerated. When the cage speed is reduced to a value lower than a predetermined value, brake coil 10 is energized to release the brake, whereby cage is driven by the unbalance load. However, when the cage speed becomes higher than a predetermined value, brake coil 10 is also de-energized to actuate brake, whereby the cage speed is again decelerated. When the cage comes into a range where opening and closing of door is allowed, of a nearest floor, cage is stopped and passengers can be rescued.
