Abstract

PURPOSE: An in-pipe travelling body which can travel through a pipe freely and can be bent in any direction while keeping sufficient hardness for cleaning and pressure- receiving at the contact area against the inside wall of a pipe.
CONSTITUTION: A travelling body A used for cleaning the interior wall of a pipe comprises an extension coil spring 1 which is freely bendable and expandable and has a rectangular wire cross-sectional shape. Screw members 2 connected together by a wire 3 are screwed to the ends of the spring 1 for fitting slip-off stopper members 6. Around the spring 1 between the members 6 are alternately placed two dish-like flexible pressure-receiving contact members 4 and two cleaning contact members 5 fitted with wire brush (e). The travelling body A is travelled inside a pipe 7A by the pressurized air from a pressurizing means 10, to clean the interior of the pipe.
