Abstract

PURPOSE: To rapidly mount a runner at the end of a main shaft of a lateral hydraulic turbine by providing female threads at the end of the main shaft of the turbine, screwing male threads of temporary shaft with the female threads of the main shaft to support the end of the temporary shaft by the support in a draft tube, and moving the runner along the temporary shaft.
CONSTITUTION: In the state that a temporary shaft 12 is retracted into a draft tube 8, a runner 1 is carried externally by a crane 15 and lowered to move the temporary shaft 12 rightwardly to be inserted into the center of the runner 1. Then, the shaft 12 is turned to screw the male threads 14 into the female threads 13 to thereby mount the base end of the shaft 12 at the end of a main shaft 2. Then, the runner 1 is removed from the crane 15 to push it rightwardly to disposed it at the end of the main shaft 2. Then, a stud bolt 3 is tightened to thus complete the mounting of the runner 1 at the main shaft 2.
