Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the supply air ratio to a two-cycle engine by reducing the clearance volume between the crankcase and the balance weight of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: A connecting rod 17 connected to a piston (not shown) of a two- cycle engine is connected at the other end thereof to two balance weights 32, 32 contained in a crankcase 12 via a pin 33. These weights 32, 32 are secured to a crankshaft 31 supported via bearings 27, 28 and formed in circle in cross section, and, in addition, formed at the sector portion 34 at the upper portion thereof of low density material such as aluminum or the like and at the residual portion 34' thereof of high density material such as carbon steel or the like.
