Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an observation elevator bringing no trouble on safety and structure of the cage as a whole and never giving passengers fear of heights in spite of having extremely wide, viewed from outside of the cage, window glass.
CONSTITUTION: The window glass 32 is installed as widely as possible in outside of the cage 24 provided movably in a transparent elevator shaft. Display illuminators 39 usable both for outside and inside of the cage are installed in side members 37 and 38 provided inside of the window glass 32 so as to remain necessary range a for passengers to observe outside scenery. Said apparatus 39 consists of light source 40, such as electric bulb, equipped inside the side members 37 and 38, and display plate 41 and 42 set outside and inside of the side member 37 and 38 so as to be irradiated by the same light source 40, and advertisements as a name of building are shown in the outside display plate 41, while informations of each floor of the building or the like are shown in the inside display plate 42.
