Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent damage of contents (e.g. fruit) by inverting boxes while covering their opening, stabilizing the content at a horizontal transfer zone, opening the opening gradually, and reducing the drop head of the content.
CONSTITUTION: Boxes 15 fed by a means 17 are fed between a rotary drum 1 and a guide means 23 by rollers 41. With the opening of the box 15 covered by a rubber belt 11 wound about the drum 1, the box 15 rests on the guide means 23 and moves up along the peripheral surface of the drum 1. At the upper position of the drum 1, the opening of the box 15 faces down, i.e. the box 15 is inverted. The inverted box 15 is transfered through a horizontal transfer zone A and fed outside while guided by a feed-out guide 29. When the boxe 15 gets onto the guide 29, the down-facing opening gradually parts from the zone A so that the content 27 passes through a gap 31, rolls down along a guide plate 33, and is discharged by a belt 39.
