Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of operation-ability, by delaying ignition timing more than normal ignition timing until the operation conditions that purification action at a reactor can efficiently be performed are realized. CONSTITUTION:An angle lead device 5 for delaying ignition timing more than normal ignition timing controlled by means of a vacuum system angle lead mechanism 4 is installed except when the temperature of the cooling water of an engine is not more than the first set value and when the temperature of the cooling water of the engine is not less than the second set value and the temperature of exhaust at the outlets of reactors 3, 3 is not less than some fixed value. The action of the angle of the load of the vacuum system angle lead mechanism 4 is stopped and ignition timing is substantially brought to the condition of the angle of lag during warming-up. Ignition timing is brought to the condition of the angle of lag even when the temperature of exhaust is not more than low temperature such as 650 deg.C after warming-up is completed. Meanwhile, when the temperature of exhaust is not less than 650 deg.C, ignition timing is adequately controlled under the condition of the angle of lead in response to the loads of the engine by means of the vacuum system angle lead mechanism 4.
