Abstract
PURPOSE: To maintain a fuel pellet effectively without reducing the effctive volume of a plenum part, by means of fixing a spring member which fixes the fuel pellet by lamination by a holding member having a spring piece compressing to the inner surface of a cladding tube.
CONSTITUTION: A pellet 4 inserted in a cladding tube 1 is compressed by a spring member 11, and the spring member 11 is holded by a holding member 20. The holding member is constituted of a spring piece 21 and a circular ring 23 of a shuttlecock shape having a contact member to the spring piece 21. The spring piece 21 holds the spring member 11 in the inserted state in the cladding tube 1, by means of exerting a pressure by making some angle to the inner surface of the cladding tube. By such means, the assembling operation can be simplified, the effective volume of the holding member can be reduced, and from the result, the volume of the plenum part 5 can be enlarged.
