Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a miniature apparatus of simple constitution by turning a conductor fan by making use of air flow for dustproofing thereby varying the electrostatic fields owing to surface potentials.
CONSTITUTION: The inside of a shield case 1 and the neighborhood of an aperture 2 are dustproofed from the outside by the air flow through influent port 3 and aperture 2. This air flow causes the fan 9 formed by blades of conductor to turn to vary the electrostatic fields corresponding to the surface potentials of the measuring object 8. The surface potentials of the object 8 are then detected as AC signals by a detecting electrode 6 opposing to the surface of the object 8 via aperture 2 and a detector 7. On the other hand, the number of revolutions of the fan 9 is detected with a light source 10 and photo detector 11 and is applied to a differential amplifier 110 to which the detected AC voltage of the device 7 apply via frequency- voltage coverter 100. The amplifier 110 generated the AC signal of a constant voltage proportional to the surface potentials of the object 8 irrespective of the number of revolutions of the fan 9. Hence, the need for the motor exclusive for the fan is eliminated.
