Abstract

PURPOSE: To reinforce the interior wall of a piping in situ and to thereby prevent leakage by forming a filament-reinforced thermosetting resin or rubber tube closely fitted to the interior of a laid piping.
CONSTITUTION: An elestomeric tube 1 is covered with a filamant layer 2 impregnated with a thermosetting resin or the like, before inserted in a laid piping 3. In this insertion, a highly rigid wire is first inserted as a messenger and then the contracted tube 1 together with the filament layer 2 is inserted. After insertion, compressed air is fed into the tube 1 to expand it into a cylinder which fits closely to the interior of the piping 3. The filament layer 2 also expands into a cylinder which fits closely to the tube 1 and the piping 3. The resin is heated, as needed, so as to form an FRP layer closely fitted to the interior wall of the piping 3.
