Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a building material for indoor-use having improved inhabitability utilizing the himidity-controlling activity of a wooden substrate, by applying a synthetic resin layer having a number of moisture-permeable and water-inpermeable microscopic holes to the upper surface of a wooden substrate.
CONSTITUTION: A decorative paper 4 is pasted to the surface of a wooden substrate 1 by an adhesive layer 3. The surface of the decorative paper 4 is coated with an aminoalkyd resin paint to form a synthetic resin layer 2. The synthetic resin layer 2, the decorative paper 4, and the adhesive layer 3, are provided with a number of microscopic holes 5, pref. having diameters of several to 100 microns. The hole is permeable to moisture while it is a barrier to water, and it should at least reach the wooden substrate, and may pierce through the substrate. The hole can be produced by pressing the surface with a plate having a number of sharp needles, or by electrical discharge, laser processing, etc.
