Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A N-propioloylindoline of formula I.
USE: Agents preventing harmful algae from attaching to vessels or equipment, e.g. fishing nets, ship bottoms, underwater structures, or cooling water channels, immersed in water for a long time.
PROCESS: Propiolic acid chloride of formula II is reacted with indoline of formula III in the presence of a dehydrochlorinating agent, e.g. N,N-diethylaniline to give N- propioloylindoline of formula I.
