Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase bonding force between the subsidiary wire and the plustic sheath and improve the efficiency of installation work by coating the subsidiary wire previously provided with an adhesive layer, with the wire introduced to an extruder.
CONSTITUTION: A support wire 21 previously having an adhesive layer formed on the circumference thereof is introduced to an extruder 6 by which the wire and a cable core 2 are coated with a plastic sheath. For the material of the adhesive layer, ideal are a copolymer mainly composed of ethylene excellent in the adhesion to metal and plastic, such as ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, or the like. This can increase the binding force between the subsidiary wire and the plastic sheath thereby eliminating slippage therebetween. Thus, the efficiency can be improved in the installation work of cables.
