Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the batch-to-batch uniformity of polymerization degree, by measuring the viscosity of the reaction mixture at the end point of the reaction with a torque sensor attached to a polycondensation apparatus.

An unsaturated polyester having a molecular weight of 500W20,000 is prepared by measuring the viscosity change of the polycondensation system with the torque sensor 8 and carrying out the polycondensation until the viscosity reaches 0.1W1,000 poise.
