Abstract
PURPOSE: To efficiently manufacture the high quality product from the disk blank of uniform wall thickness, by settling the diameter of forming roll so as to satisfy the peculiar conditions including the diameter of boss of the blank, diameter of the main shaft, the angle of inclination of roll turning shaft, the rolling reduction by the roll, and the length of the first reduction plane, and by setling the angle of inclination of the second reduction plane at a specified value.
CONSTITUTION: D is the diameter of a couple of upper and lower forming rolls 17 for roll forming the web portion of the disk blank 14, d1 is the diameter of boss portion of the blank 14, d2 is the diameter of the main shaft 16, α is the angle made by the turning shaft 25 of the forming roll 17 against the horizontal plane, h ig the rolling reduction given to the blank 14 by the forming roll 17, and l is the length of the first reduction plane 26 of the forming roll 17; then those factors are arranged so as to satisfy the conditions given by formulas I and II; and besides, the angle θ, made by the second reduction plane 27 of the forming roll 17 against the horizontal plane, is settled at 60W75 degrees. When the formula I is satisfied, the interference between the main shaft 16 and the forming roll 17 is prevented, and other conditions make possible the manufacture of the high quality product.
