Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high voltage for discharging flash lamp by changeover connection from parallel to series of a plurality of capacitors. CONSTITUTION:Capacitors 31 thru 34 are all series-charged by timing-controlling the ON-OFF of relay contacts S1 thru S7 to charge the capacitors 31 thru 34 nearly up to 1/4 the Dc supply voltage V0. Next, the capacitors 31 thru 34 are series-parallel charged to charge the capacitors 31 thru 34 nearly up to 1/2 the DC supply voltage V0. After this, the capacitors 31 thru 34 are all parallel- charged to charge the capacitors 31 thru 34 up to the DC supply voltage V0. Finally, all the capacitors 31 thru 34 are series-connected, whereby the charging voltage 4 times the DC supply voltage V0 may be obtained.
