Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a lamp socket, in which a wiring feeder having therein lead wires in the form of a flat strip is removed of its cover material at one end thereof such that the lead wires are exposed to the outside at one side of the same, and the feeder is inserted between a compression spring and a socket body with the exposed lead wires being located on the back of said socket body, whereby it is enabled to simplify the construction of the lamp socket and also the assembling operation of the same.
CONSTITUTION: In a lamp socket of this invention, a twin-lead type feeder 13 is used in place of conventional terminal board and cord, but case 2, socket body 3 and compression spring 5 are conventional ones. Twin-lead type feeder 13 is substantially in the form of a strip in which two flat conductors 14 are embedded in insulating material 15 in parallel and at a pitch equal to that of the pin terminals 9 of lamp 1. At the top of feeder 13, its insulating material is removed on one side thereof, so that one side of the conductors 14 is exposed to the outside. The feeder 13 is inserted between socked body 3 and compression spring 5 with its exposed side being located on the back of socket body 3, and it is fixed in place such that pin holes 10 of the socket body 3 are covered by respective conductors 14, 14.
