PURPOSE:To increase calcining ratio of raw material remarkably before it is fed to a rotary kiln without loosing advantage of heat exchanger type furnace by installing a calcining furnace between a cylindrical heat exchanger and a roasting furnace, and by contacting the raw material countercurrently with high temp. gas which whirls up.
