PURPOSE:To provide an optical fiber which can easily be manufactured with less loss and dispersion by forming multiple layers of coaxial circular cylinders in a manner enhancing the refractive index distribution toward the center from the periphery in substantially parabolic state and lowering the softening temperature distribution from the center toward the periphery substantially in rectilinear state.
