Abstract
PURPOSE:To form a preform by which an optical fiber of a uniform refractive index distribution may be obtained, by causing vapor phase reaction in a tubular blank to take place through ingenious combination of main heat treatment and auxiliary heat treatment in internally depositing CVD.
