Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the lateral drawability of a sulfur free cutting steel contg. a specified amt. of S without deteriorating its machinability by blooming an ingot or billet of the steel to limit the average length of the minor axes of sulfides in the steel and subjecting it to high temps. soaking treatment to finely divide the sulfides followed by finish rolling.
