Abstract
PURPOSE: Isoprene, useful as a raw material of synthetic rubber, is prepared in high yield by the decomposition of 4,4-dimethylmetadioxane in the presence of Na-structure synthetic faujasite X-type zeolite partially ion-exchanged with Gp. II metals as catalysts.
