Abstract

PURPOSE: Exhaust gas is mixed with ozone to oxidize NO in the gas to NO2 and treated with an alkaline aqueous solution containing sulfites and thiosulfates and then nitrite ions in the solution are decomposed to N2 at pH≤4.2 in the presence of amide sulfonate.
