Abstract
PURPOSE: High purity squalane (2,6,10,15,19,23-hexamethyl tetracosa-hexa-en) is effectively prepared by the partial hydrogenation of the reaction mixture of diacetylene with geranylacetone, etc. without removing the unreacted compounds, and by the hydrolysis of the hydrogenation product.
