Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a standby TV modulator which will not cause mismatch with an input impedance of an external device even when a power supply is turned off for a CATV head end by automatically switching and connecting an output terminal to a terminating resistance that can secure the matching with the input impedance of the external device when the power supply is turned off. SOLUTION: A standby TV modulator usually operates by the DC voltage supplied from an AVR 3. Then a current flows to the coil of a changeover switch 9, and the coil is excited and a movable contact 13 is connected to a contact 11 of a branching device 8. The RF signal that is outputted from the device 8 is transmitted through an output terminal 10 and inputted to an external device 1.
