Such compositions include cleaning agents, blowing agents for polyolefins and polyurethanes, refrigerators, aerosol propellants, heat transfer media, gaseous dielectrics, fire extinguishing agents, power cycle working fluids. Useful as working fluids, polymerization media, particulate removal fluids, carrier fluids, buffing abrasives, and displacement drying agents. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Fluorinated hydrocarbons have many uses, one of which is as a detergent or solvent, for example, for cleaning electronic circuit boards. The electronic components are soldered to the circuit board by coating the entire circuit side of the circuit board with a flux and then passing the flux coated board over a preheater and passing molten solder. The flux cleans the conductive metal components and promotes the melting of the solder, but leaves a residue on the circuit board, which must be removed with a detergent. Fluorinated hydrocarbons are also useful detergents in steam degreasing operations. Preferably, the detergent should have a low boiling point, nonflammability, low toxicity and high solvency power, so that flux and flux residues damage the substrate to be cleaned. It can be removed without. Further, it is desirable that detergents, including fluorinated hydrocarbons, be azeotropic or azeotrope-like so that they do not tend to separate as they boil or evaporate. If the detergent is not azeotropic or azeotrope-like, the more volatile components of the detergent will evaporate preferentially and the detergent will become flammable or have less desirable solvent properties, such as low rosin flux. It may have melting power, low stability to the electronic components to be cleaned. Azeotropic properties are also desirable in steam degreasing operations. This is because detergents are generally redistilled and reused for final rinse cleaning. Fluorinated hydrocarbons can also be used as refrigerants. In refrigeration applications, they are often lost during operation due to leaks in shaft seals, hose connections, solder joints, and broken lines. In addition, refrigerant may be released to the atmosphere during refrigeration equipment maintenance procedures. Accordingly, it is desirable to use a single fluorinated hydrocarbon or an azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition containing one or more than one fluorinated hydrocarbon as the refrigerant. Although some non-azeotropic compositions containing one or more fluorinated hydrocarbons can also be used as refrigerants, they are characterized in that some of the refrigerant charge has either leaked to the atmosphere or It has the disadvantage that when discharged, the composition changes or fractionation occurs. If the non-azeotropic composition contains flammable components, the blend may become flammable due to such compositional changes. The operation of the refrigeration system can be adversely affected by changes in composition and vapor pressure resulting from fractionation. The azeotropic or azeotrope-like compositions of fluorinated hydrocarbons are also useful as blowing agents in the production of closed cell polyurethanes, phenols and thermoplastic foams. Insulating foams are used not only to foam the polymer, but more importantly, to take advantage of the low vapor thermal conductivity of the blowing agent, a property that is important for the insulation value. I need. Aerosol products use both single component fluorinated hydrocarbons and azeotropic or azeotrope-like compositions of fluorinated hydrocarbons as propellant vapor pressure attenuators in aerosol-based propellant vapor pressure attenuators. Azeotropic or azeotrope-like compositions having a substantially constant composition and vapor pressure are useful as solvents and propellants in aerosols. An azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition containing fluorinated hydrocarbons may be used as a heat transfer medium, a gaseous dielectric, a fire extinguisher such as a power cycle working fluid for a heat pump, an inert medium for a polymerization reaction, It is also useful as a fluid for removing objects and as a carrier fluid that can be used, for example, to place a thin film of lubricant on a metal part. Azeotropic or azeotrope-like compositions containing fluorinated hydrocarbons can also be used as buffing abrasive cleaners to remove buffing abrasive compounds from polished surfaces such as metals, e.g., gem or metal parts. Used as a replacement desiccant to remove water from, as a resist developer in conventional circuit manufacturing techniques using a chlorine-type developer and with, for example, chlorohydrocarbons such as 1,1,1-trichloroethane or trichloroethylene. In this case, it is useful as a photoresist stripper. Some of the recently used fluorinated hydrocarbons in these applications have theoretically led to global ozone depletion and global warming. Therefore, what is needed is an alternative to fluorinated hydrocarbons with low ozone depletion potential and low global warming potential. For purposes of the present invention, an "effective amount" is defined as the amount of each component of the composition of the present invention that when taken together forms an azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition. This definition refers to the amount of each component that may vary depending on the pressure applied to the composition, as long as the azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition remains at different pressures, but optionally with different boiling points. Is included. Thus, an effective amount includes an amount, such as may be expressed in weight percent, of each component of the composition of the present invention that forms an azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition at pressures other than those described herein. I do. An “azeotropic or azeotrope-like” composition refers to a constant boiling or substantially constant boiling liquid mixture of two or more substances that behave as a single substance. One way to characterize an azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition is that the vapor produced by partial evaporation or distillation of the liquid has substantially the same composition as the liquid from which the vapor was evaporated or distilled, i.e., That is, the mixture is distilled or refluxed without substantially changing the composition. A constant or substantially constant boiling composition characterized as azeotropic or azeotrope-like exhibits a maximum or minimum boiling point compared to the boiling point of a non-azeotropic mixture of the same components. For the purpose of this discussion, azeotropic or constant boiling point is intended to mean substantially azeotropic or substantially constant boiling. In other words, these terms include not only the true azeotrope described above, but also other compositions containing the same components in different proportions that are true azeotropes at other temperatures and pressures. Also, these equivalent compositions that are part of the same azeotropic system and are azeotrope-like in their properties. As is well recognized in the art, not only exhibit essentially equivalent properties for refrigeration and other applications, but also due to their constant boiling characteristics or their tendency to not segregate or fractionate upon boiling. There is a range of compositions containing the same components as the azeotrope, exhibiting properties essentially equivalent to the azeotropic composition of In practice, it is possible to characterize a constant boiling mixture that can exhibit many aspects, depending on the conditions chosen by any of the following criteria. (A) A composition can be defined as an azeotrope of A, B, C, (and D ...). Because the term "azeotrope" is definitive and limiting at a time, and because of this unique composition of a substance that is a constant boiling composition, its effective amount of A, B, C (And D ...). (B) It is well known in the art that at different pressures, the composition of a given azeotrope will change at least to some extent, and that a change in pressure will at least to some extent also change the boiling point temperature. Thus, the azeotrope of A, B, C (and D ...) represents a unique type of relationship with a variable composition depending on temperature and / or pressure. Thus, a range of compositions rather than a fixed composition is often used to define an azeotrope. (C) Composition may be defined as a specific weight percent or mole percent relationship of A, B, C (and D ...). However, such a particular value indicates only one particular relationship, and in reality a series of such relationships represented by A, B, C (and D ...) may be affected by the effect of pressure. It should be appreciated that for a given azeotrope that is varied, it does exist. (D) the azeotrope of A, B, C (and D ...) can be characterized by defining the composition as an azeotrope characterized by a boiling point at a given pressure and thus available Specific numerical compositions limited by the analyzer and as accurate as the available analyzers provide identification of features without unduly limiting the scope of the invention. The ternary compositions described below are characterized as azeotropic or azeotrope-like in that mixtures within this range exhibit a substantially constant boiling point at substantially atmospheric pressure. Since the mixture has a substantially constant boiling point, it does not tend to separate to a large extent upon evaporation. After evaporation, there is little difference between the composition of the vapor and the composition of the first liquid phase. This difference is such that the composition of the vapor phase and the composition of the liquid phase are considered to be substantially the same. Thus, compositions within this range exhibit properties that are characteristic of a true ternary azeotrope. 1. HFC-43-10mee about 81.9 to 89.9% by weight, heptane about 4. 8 to 9.8% by weight and about 4.8 to 8.8% by weight of methanol; HFC-43-10mee about 89.0 to 92.0% by weight, heptane about 4. 2. 4-6.4% by weight, and about 3.6-4.6% by weight of ethanol; HFC-43-10mee about 91.6 to 95.6% by weight, heptane about 4. 3. 1-7.1% by weight, and about 0.1-1.8% by weight of n-propanol; HFC-43-10mee about 89.8-93.8% by weight, heptane about 4. 2 to 6.2% by weight, and about 1.5 to 4.5% by weight of isopropanol. The ternary composition described below has been established within the accuracy of a fractional distillation process as a true ternary azeotrope at substantially atmospheric pressure. 1. About 85.9% by weight of HFC-43-10mee, about 7.3% by weight of heptane, and about 6.8% by weight of methanol; 2. about 90.5% by weight of HFC-43-10mee, about 5.4% by weight of heptane, and about 4.1% by weight of ethanol; 3. about 93.6% by weight of HFC-43-10mee, about 5.6% by weight of heptane, and about 0.8% by weight of n-propanol; About 91.8% by weight of HFC-43-10mee, about 5.2% by weight of heptane, and about 3.0% by weight of isopropanol. The azeotrope has a low ozone depletion potential and is expected to decompose almost completely before reaching the stratosphere. The azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition of the present invention, due to its azeotropic nature, allows for easy recovery and reuse of the solvent from vapor defluxing and steam degreasing operations. By way of example, the azeotropes of the present invention can be used in a cleaning process as described in U.S. Pat. No. 3,881,949 or can be used as a buffing abrasive detergent. it can. In addition, the mixture is useful as a resist developer where a chlorine type developer is used and as a resist stripping agent by the addition of a suitable halocarbon. Another aspect of the present invention is a refrigeration method comprising condensing a refrigerant composition of the present invention and then evaporating it near the object to be cooled. Similarly, yet another aspect of the present invention is a heating method comprising condensing a refrigerant of the present invention near an object to be heated, and then evaporating the refrigerant. A further aspect of the present invention is an aerosol composition comprising an activator and a propellant, wherein the propellant is an azeotrope of the present invention, and the manufacture of these compositions by combining the components. . The present invention further includes a cleaning solvent composition comprising the azeotrope of the present invention. The azeotropic or azeotrope-like compositions of the present invention can be prepared by any convenient method that involves mixing or bringing together the desired amounts of components. The preferred method is to weigh the desired component quantities and then combine them in a suitable container. Without further elaboration, it is believed that one skilled in the art can, using the preceding description, utilize the present invention to its fullest extent.
