2. Description of the Related Art Dental pulpitis is caused by the progress of dental caries. This radical treatment involves removing (pulling) the infected pulp,
Here is to fill the root canal filler. This state will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 3 is an explanatory view showing an enlarged root canal for treatment of pulpitis. As shown in FIG. 3, the tooth consists of an enamel 1, a dentin 2, a cementum 3, and a root canal containing pulp. An apical hole 4 is provided at the tip of the root canal, and its periphery is constituted by apical periodontal tissue 5. In conventional treatment of pulpitis, the surgeon first removes the infected pulp in the root canal, and enlarges the root canal to an appropriate size with the needle-shaped file 6. The surgeon fills the enlarged root canal with solid root canal filling material and closes the apical foramen. At that time,
The gap created between the solid root canal filling material and the root canal wall is filled with a sealer. Through the above processing, the infection route from the oral cavity to the apical periodontal tissue through the root canal is blocked. At the same time, the tissue fluid of the apical periodontal tissue is prevented from entering the root canal.

[0004] Conventional root canal filling materials include solid materials and sizing agents. As the solid material, gutta-percha points mainly composed of rubber and zinc are widely used. Gutta-percha points are widely used in dentistry as solid root canal fillers because they are thermoplastic and can better seal the root canal and apical foramen. However, filling a curved root canal can be difficult. In vivo, it undergoes phagocytosis as a foreign substance. Sterilization other than gas sterilization is difficult. Further, the product deteriorates and becomes brittle even under a normal environment. In addition, there is a silver point, but the silver point is hardly used at present because it has no adhesion to the apical hole and is difficult to remove. Also, there is a report in the 1960's that an attempt was made to develop a solid root canal filler using a synthetic resin such as polypropylene or silicone. However, the solid root canal filling material made of polypropylene does not have radiographic properties, and therefore, when an X-ray contrast agent such as barium sulfate is added, the polypropylene root canal filling material is deteriorated in material and states that it cannot be commercialized. In addition, it was concluded that the silicone resin is not a solid material, but hardens in the root canal and does not adhere to the root canal, so it is unsuitable, and the root canal filling method using a synthetic resin has not been completed until now.

The polypropylene resin has appropriate hardness and bending strength, has good moldability, and can be formed into a shape conforming to international standards as a root canal filler. In addition, it has no harmful effects on the living body and has low antigenicity, and remains in a living body as a state encapsulated in connective tissue. As the polypropylene, isotactic polypropylene is particularly preferred. Depending on the thickness of the solid root canal filling material, [0] should be given in order to impart appropriate contrast (20-50%), hardness and elasticity to the root canal filling material.

The composite oxide particles of zirconia-containing synthetic spherical silica (SiO 2 —ZrO 2 ) and titania-containing synthetic spherical silica (SiO 2 —TiO 2 ) are such that zirconia and titania are uniformly dispersed as ultrafine particles in fine spherical silica fine particles. As a result, uniform and dense contrast properties are exhibited, and at the same time, silica gives polypropylene or silicone an appropriate hardness as a filler.

When using the root canal filling material according to the present invention, it is necessary to fill a gap between the root canal filling material and the root canal wall with a sealer so as to be in close contact therewith. Silicone made of dimethylpolysiloxane is used as the sealer. Silicones usually have a polymerization inhibitor added,
At the time of root canal filling, a curing agent (catalyst) is added and filled into the root canal together with the root canal filling material as a sealer. The root canal filling material fills gaps in the root canal wall to enhance the sealing ability of the root canal. The sealer made of this silicone is preferably silicone rubber, and zirconia-containing synthetic spherical silica (SiO 2 —ZrO 2 ) or titania-containing synthetic spherical silica (SiO 2 —TiO 2 ) is blended as a filler with the silicone rubber. Develops sex and hardness, and radiographic contrast (30-50%). Since zirconia and titania are spherical ultrafine particles, they have uniform and contrast properties. The root canal filling material according to the present invention has the same shape as that of the conventional solid root canal filling material. That is, about 0.3-
It has a diameter of 1.4 mm and a length of about 28 mm, depending on the root canal applied. The tip is preferably pointed at an angle of about 75 degrees so as to easily close the apical hole. This root canal filling material has the characteristics required for the above-mentioned root canal filling material, and is particularly reliable and easy to insert into the root canal, and increases the adhesiveness of the root canal wall at the apical part. is there.

The root canal filling material according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a polypropylene root canal filling material, in which a pith is removed and a root canal filling material 7 is inserted together with a sealer 8 into the enlarged root canal. FIG. 2 shows the shape of the root canal filling material, which has the same standard shape as a root canal expander and a reamer having a standardized thickness and shape. In order to use a shape of the same standard as such a reamer,
The root canal is filled almost in close contact with the root canal wall. The small gap between the root canal filling material and the root canal wall is filled with the sealer 8. The sealer cures quickly, adheres to the root canal wall, and is fixed with the root canal filler. When this state was taken on a radiograph, in the radiograph, the zirconium-containing synthetic spherical silica or titania-containing synthetic spherical silica and the zirconia-containing synthetic spherical silica or titania-containing synthetic spherical silica were filled into the root canal as an X-ray opaque image. State was confirmed.

Further, since it contains zirconia-containing synthetic spherical silica or titania-containing synthetic spherical silica, it exhibits appropriate hardness, elasticity, and radiographic properties, and has the following effects as compared with the related art. 1. It has good adhesion to the root canal wall and almost complete root canal sealing. 2. It is a much more stable root canal filling material chemically and physically. 3. It is a root canal filling material that has much less antigenicity in vivo and is less susceptible to phagocytosis. 4. It has elasticity and can be pressurized into curved and narrow root canals. 5. Easy sterilization. 6. Addition of zirconia-containing synthetic spherical silica, titania-containing synthetic spherical silica, or alumina single oxide fine particles provides uniform and high-density contrast properties and appropriate elasticity and hardness, which are features of the present invention. 6. In the case of re-treatment of a tooth, it is necessary to take out the root canal filling material. However, the root canal filling material of the present invention does not easily break and does not adhere to tissue in a living body, so that it can be taken out easily.
