Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a tape for binding a sheaf of pieces of paper without applying a drawing force to the tape. SOLUTION: This tape cutting mechanism in a binding apparatus for a sheaf of pieces of paper is so designed that, after a tape (b) forming a loop around a postal card bundle (a) which is a sheaf of paper is passed around the postal card bundle (a) and drawn, a superposed portion at the ends of the tape (b) are welded, and that the tape is cut off on the feed side at the welded portion. The tape cutting mechanism is moved up relative to a welding auxiliary body 9 disposed at a stopping portion of the tape cutting mechanism so as to be positioned on the underside of the unit set sheet bundle, and sandwiches the superposed ends of the tape (b) between the welding auxiliary body 9 and the tape cutting mechanism when the mechanism is moved up, thus welding the superposed ends of the tape (b). The tape cutting mechanism comprises a heater 10 provided unitarily with a cutter 11, a clamp 12 for grasping the vicinity of the top end of the tape (b) between the welding auxiliary body 9 and the clamp 12, and a cutter receiver 13 which moves up and down unitarily with the cutter 11. Since a shearing force is applied to the tape (b) between the heated cutter 11 and the cutter receiver 13, tension is not required as conventional in practice, and the tape (b) can be easily cut off while being melted.

In the above-mentioned conventional tape cutting mechanism 100, the cutter 103 is disposed obliquely, and the tape b is cut by pressing the tape b against the cutter 103 by the drawing force (tension) of the tape supply roller 105. Therefore, if the tension is reduced, cutting cannot be performed. Then, when the tension of the tape b is set to be larger than the predetermined value and the cutting is performed, deformation such as warpage is likely to occur,
In particular, there is a problem that the method cannot be applied to postcards having a small number of single-sheet sheets.

As shown in FIGS. 2 and 5 to 10, the banding auxiliary guide 8 is composed of two pairs of upper and lower guide rods 8 extending horizontally.
The two guide rod supports 14 extending in the vertical direction, each of which has a fixed base end, and enter or exit inside two pairs of upper and lower guide rods 8a, and are hung between the guides 8a during the entrance. Inside the tape b in the state (the guide rod support 14
And a pair of tape releasing members 16 formed at each end. The guide rod support 14 is horizontally moved with the guide rod 8a in a direction orthogonal to the direction in which the loop of the tape b extends, if necessary.
The guide rod 8a is configured to be displaced between a guide position where the tape b is applied and a non-guide position where the tape b is not applied. Further, the guide rods 8a are arranged such that the postcard bundle a is accommodated inside the loop formed by the wrapped tape b. Further, the tape release body 16 approaches each other in a direction perpendicular to the guide rod 8a so that the pair of upper and lower locking pieces 15 enter and exit the inside of the pair of upper and lower guide rods 8a. Alternatively, it is horizontally moved by a driving mechanism (not shown) so as to separate from each other. In FIG. 2, reference numeral 17 denotes an auxiliary clamp, which is used to hold the welded portion on the side opposite to the clamp 12 at the time of tape welding to suppress the movement of the tape b.

Next, based on FIG.
Will be described. First, when the previous banding is completed (Step 50), the banded bundle of postcards a is discharged from the stop portion of the transfer path 5 toward the collecting portion (Step 5).
1) Then, the postcard bundle a to be hung up enters (step 52), and the postcard bundle a is stopped on the welding auxiliary body 9 at the stop portion of the transfer path 5. In parallel with the discharging operation (step 51) and the entering operation (step 52) of the postcard bundle a,
The vicinity of the leading end of the tape b fed by the tape supply roller 2 rotating forward is gripped by the gripping portion 7b of the rotating body 7a of the loop forming member 3, and the rotating body 7a is rotated once along the ring 6 to form the gripping portion 7b. The tip side further than the vicinity of the tip of the tape b gripped by the above is gripped by the clamp 12. When the rotating body 7a makes one rotation, the tape b is hung on each guide rod 8a at the guide position of the banding assist guide 8, and a loop of the tape b is formed outside the postcard bundle a. Here, the tape release members 16 enter in a direction in which they approach each other, and the locking pieces 15 are inserted inside the tape b. Then, the banding auxiliary guide 8 is displaced to the non-guide position, and the tape b
Is released from each guide rod 8a.

Subsequently, the tape b released from each guide rod 8a and slackened is drawn to the supply side by rotating the tape supply roller 2 in the reverse direction (step 54).
When the tape b is squeezed, the heater 10 is raised, and the leading end portion of the overlapped tape b and the supply-side loop end of the tape b are pressed against the welding auxiliary body 9 to be welded, and the tape b in the squeezed state is removed. On the supply side close to the welded portion, the heater 10 rises with the heater
While the tape b is melted by the cutter 11 heated in the above, the tape b is cut while sandwiching it between the welding auxiliary body 9 (step 55), and the banding operation is completed (step 56). Note that the postcard bundle a on which the band is attached is conveyed along the transfer path 3 toward the stacking unit.

As described above, according to the first aspect of the present invention, since the cutter is heated and receives a shearing force between the cutter and the cutter receiver, the tape is easily cut while melting. Since there is no need to apply tension to the tape and cut it as in the conventional example, the single-sheet paper bundle to be processed does not deform such as warping, and can be applied to a small number of single-sheet paper bundles. It works.

According to a second aspect of the present invention, in addition to the effects of the first aspect of the present invention, the loop of the tape is formed as a single piece by gripping the vicinity of the leading end of the tape with a loop forming member. Since it is formed around the sheet bundle, no jam occurs and the degree of freedom in selecting the tape b is high, and the loop of the tape is guided outside the single-sheet sheet bundle by the tape hooking auxiliary guide. Since it is possible to simultaneously discharge and enter a single-sheet sheet bundle, the processing time can be shortened.
