Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an expandable hydraulic material by admixing concrete, mortal or cement paste with calcium oxide-rich fly ash to effect hydration reaction of the calcium oxide to form calcium hydroxide crystals so as to expand the cement paste by the aid of the crystals, and also to contribute to utilization of fly ash as an industrial waste. SOLUTION: The fly ash to be used is such one that the calcium oxide content is higher than the acceptable value specified in accordance with the JIS Standard. This hydraulic material may be admixed with another hydraulic material consisting mainly of calcium oxide, calcium sulfoaluminate or hauyne. The calcium oxide-rich fly ash, when mixed with cement and kneaded with water, forms calcium hydroxide crystals by hydration reaction, leading to expanding concrete or mortar by the aid of the crystals, thereby enabling concrete cracking to be suppressed and filler integrity to be secured after concrete or mortar hardening.

[0007] The expandable hydraulic material of the present invention contains more calcium oxide than fly ash (coal ash), which is conventionally used as an admixture for concrete and has a calcium oxide content within the allowable value of JIS standards. A large amount of fly ash exceeding the standard is used as an admixture. When fly ash having a high content of calcium oxide [CaO] is mixed with cement and kneaded with water [H 2 O],
Crystals of calcium hydroxide [Ca (OH) 2 ] are generated by the hydration reaction, and the force of these crystals expands concrete or mortar. To use this expansion force,
By using fly ash with calcium oxide content exceeding the standard used in the cement, an inflatable hydraulic material is obtained that can suppress cracking of concrete and ensure the integrity of the filler after curing. be able to. In addition, the expandable hydraulic material of the present invention may be used as an auxiliary material of a static crushed material due to its expanding force. In addition, in order to obtain the expandable hydraulic material of the present invention, a conventional hydraulic material can be mixed and used in addition to the fly ash.
