Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage battery which is free of increase in internal resistance of a winding electrode plate group and short-circuit by providing a coining plate part for mounting a lead lug curved in winding direction at a part of a side rim of a winding electrode plate, mounting a curved mounting plate part having the same curvature to form the plate part, and mounting it to the curved coining plate part. SOLUTION: A coining part 2 is formed by pressure-engraving a part thereof on an upper side rim of a positive electrode plate 1, and a lead lug 3 is mounted at a mounting plate part 3a to constitute the lead lug plate. A curved coining part 2 having a curved face 2a in winding direction of the electrode plate 1 is formed. The lead lug 3 is formed by pressurizing one of ends 3a of a longitudinal rectangular metal plate, and forms the curved mounting plate part 3a. The positive electrode plate 1 is capable of winding and curving the whole, and the curved mounting plate part 3a maintains a state contact with a full curved face, and is fixed by spot welding. An outer lead-out plate part 3b is left as a flat plate and is housed in the back side of a battery cap, and stable and good welding is possible.

を含めて全体に弯曲状に巻かれた理想的な捲回極板群を
形成し得るリード耳付け極板の開発が望まれる。

板部に形成したことを特徴とする。更に本発明は、捲回
極板群の内部抵抗の低下や短絡を防止し、安定良好に円
筒形アルカリ蓄電池を提供するもので、上記の本発明の
極板を用いて構成した捲回極板群を具備したことを特徴
とする。

る。一方、該リード耳3としては、所定の長さと幅を有
する長矩形状の金属板の一方の端部3a、即ち、前記の
極板1の該弯曲コイニング部2に重ねてスポット溶接な
どで接続して取付けるべき取付け板部3aを加圧して図
4に明示のように弯曲取付け板部3aに形成したものを
用意する。この場合、該弯曲取付け板部3aの弯曲面3
a1は、図3に示すように、該弯曲コイニング部2の弯
曲面2aの曲率と同じ曲率をもつものに形成することが
好ましい。

うに収容される深さを有するものに形成することが好ま
しい。該弯曲コイニング部2の曲率は、該極板1が捲回
用セパレータを介してこれと異極性の捲回用極板と積層
し、捲回されて捲回極板群としたとき、該弯曲コイニン
グ部2がその捲回極板群の中心から半径方向において位
置に応じた曲率半径に一致させて設定することが好まし
い。

て、その外側の捲回セパレータ7を損傷したり、これを
突き破ってその外側の負極板bと接触し、短絡を生ずる
ことは全くなく、安定良好な捲回極板群5を構成するこ
とができる。かくして、これを有底円筒状の電池缶に収
容することが円滑に行われ、安定良好な円筒状アルカリ
蓄電池をもたらす。
