Description of the Related Art In recent years, a material obtained by laminating a resin film such as PET on the surface of a metal band such as iron or aluminum has been widely used as a material for cans. As a laminating method, there is a method via an adhesive and a method of heat-sealing the film, but when continuously performed on a traveling metal band,
In either case, air bubbles may remain between the metal strip and the film, which is particularly noticeable during high-speed operation. It is considered that bubbles are generated when air accompanying the traveling metal band and the film is brought into the laminating roll press-fitting portion and is sealed between the metal band and the film. In particular, when large bubbles are present, the film breaks and peels during can making. Therefore, even during high-speed operation, reducing air bubbles trapped between the metal strip and the film is a problem to be solved for improving productivity and quality. As a method for reducing the entrapment of bubbles, there are the following methods.

ある。However, it is understood that the film pressing method disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 63-233824 prevents the wedge effect of air fluid, but this method cannot be used alone at high speed operation. It is enough. In the method of reducing the pressure in the vicinity of the laminating roll bonding portion as disclosed in JP-A-5-269857, it is necessary to enhance the degree of sealing (seal) between the pressure reducing portion and the outside.
It is not easy to do it for rotating metal strips and rolls. In addition, a vacuum pump for depressurization is required, and its operation cost cannot be ignored. An object of the present invention is to provide a metal strip laminating apparatus that can reduce bubbles trapped between a running metal strip and a film even during high-speed operation, in order to solve the above-described problems. .

(2) The smaller the diameter of the laminating roll, the smaller the amount of bubbles generated. Therefore, it is sufficient to apply a large pressing force by making the diameter of the laminating roll small. However, since the roll has a small diameter, the strength is insufficient, and the roll is bent or broken in the worst case.

It is necessary to maintain the temperature of the laminating roll at an appropriate temperature. However, if a small-diameter roll is used, the surface temperature rises (because the weight of the roll is light, but the amount of heat received from the metal band hardly changes). There is a need for increased cooling. Based on the above findings, the present inventors arranged a large-diameter backup roll on the rear surface of the laminating roll, provided a means for supplying and controlling the pressing force of the laminating roll to this backup roll, and further provided a means for controlling the backup roll. By providing a surface temperature control means for a laminating roll, a metal band laminating apparatus that can reduce bubbles trapped between a running metal band and a film, even during simple and high-speed operation, has completed the present invention. .

The apparatus of the present invention is provided with a pair of laminating rolls 3 sandwiching a traveling metal band 1, and is a device for laminating a resin film 2 on both surfaces of the metal band 1. A backup roll 7 (compared to the laminating roll 3); a means for supplying and controlling the pressing force of the laminating roll 3 to the backup roll 7 (pressing force applying means, for example, hydraulic pressure); (Circulating water passage 9, circulating water 10). FIG.
FIG. 2 is a view showing a conventional heat fusion type laminating apparatus. The metal strip 1 is heated to an appropriate temperature by a heating device (induction heating, roll heating or the like is used) 6. On the other hand, film 2
Is supplied to a pair of laminating rolls 3 sandwiching the metal strip 1 through the guide rolls 5, but in this process, the film 2 may be preheated in some cases. Further, the film 2 is pressed against the metal strip 1 by the laminating roll 3 and is fused by the heat of the metal strip 1. At this time, since the surface temperature of the laminating roll 3 also rises due to the heat from the metal strip 1, the surface temperature controller 4 cools the laminating roll 3 to an appropriate temperature.
A water-cooled roll is often used as the surface temperature control device 4, and the surface temperature of the laminate roll 3 can be maintained at an appropriate value by controlling the flow rate and temperature of the circulating water supplied to the water-cooled roll. The pressing force of the laminating roll 3 is, as shown in FIG.
Is supplied by hydraulic pressure. A plurality of the above-mentioned water-cooled rolls (surface temperature control devices) 4 may be installed, and the number of the water-cooled rolls used may be changed according to the line speed, the diameter of the laminating roll 3 and the like (when the rolls 4 are not used, the rolls 4 are evacuated). Contact.)

に、油圧をフィードバック制御することにより行う。When the diameter of the laminating roll 3 is reduced and a large pressing force is applied in the above-described conventional apparatus configuration, the laminating roll 3 bends or breaks as described above. Therefore, in the present invention, as shown in FIG. 1, a backup roll 7 having a diameter larger than that of the laminating roll 3 is arranged on the rear surface of the pair of laminating rolls 3 sandwiching the metal strip 1, and the laminating roll 3 is interposed therebetween. To provide the pressing force
And control. That is, the pressing force of the laminating roll 3 is supplied by hydraulic pressure (means for supplying and controlling the pressing force of the laminating roll 3) via the right backup roll bearing 8 as shown in FIG. The pressing force is controlled by feedback-controlling the hydraulic pressure such that the load (pressing force) detected by the load cell 11 installed on the left backup roll bearing 8 becomes a target value, as shown in FIG. 1, for example. Do.

In order to solve this, the backup roll 7 is a water-cooled roll. That is, a circulating water passage 9 is provided inside the backup roll 7, and the cooling water 10 is circulated from a bearing joint at both ends of the roll (surface temperature control means). Thus, the surface temperature of the laminating roll 3 can be maintained at an appropriate value by controlling the flow rate and temperature of the circulating water supplied to the backup roll 7 as in the case of the surface temperature control device 4. The surface temperature is controlled, for example, by measuring the surface temperature of the laminating roll 3 with a radiation thermometer (non-contact), and adjusting the cooling circulating water 10 to a target temperature.
This is performed by feedback-controlling the flow rate.
