Claims (2)

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 原稿台上に載置された原稿を押え開閉自
在な原稿押え板を有する複写機の原稿台の下方に原稿の
サイズに対応した位置に配設された複数の照明手段と、
この照明手段に対向した位置にあって、原稿押え板に配
設され、照明手段からの照明を受光する受光素子と、受
光素子の出力に基づいて原稿サイズを検知する原稿サイ
ズ検知手段とを具えた原稿サイズ検知装置において、前
記原稿押え板の開かれた状態を検知する開検知手段と、
開検知手段の出力と受光素子の出力とが入力される制御
手段とを設け、それぞれの照明手段の上方にそれぞれ偏
向レンズを、照明手段の直上方の照明範囲位置と、照明
範囲外の位置との間を移動自在に設け、開検知手段の開
信号に基づいて制御手段が、偏向レンズを照明範囲位置
に移動させるとともに照明手段を点灯させて光ビームを
受光素子に照射させ、原稿サイズ検知手段が受光素子の
出力に基づいて原稿サイズを検知することを特徴とする
原稿サイズ検知装置。
