Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge for photographic film whose safety and reliability in terms of lighttightness are improved and which is constituted so that the leading edge of the film may be unwound to the outside from an entrance by rotating a spool round which the film is wound in a film feeding direction. SOLUTION: This cartridge 10 is provided with a light shielding member 12 which can be turned between a closing position to close the film entrance 13 of the cartridge 10 and an opening position to open it at the film entrance 13, and the leading edge of the film is unwound from the entrance 13 by setting the member 12 at the opening position and rotating the spool 11 round which the film is wound in the film feeding direction. When the member 12 is at the closing position, the member 12 is prevented from being turned from the closing position to the opening position and the spool 11 is prevented from being rotated.

2. Description of the Related Art As a 35 mm film cartridge, a commercially available patrone is most commonly used.
