バックページャ及びページングシステム用の肯定応答DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Communication system and transmission means therefor
Technical field
The present invention relates to a communication system, in particular, a low-cost spread spectrum communication system and the same.
Related to transmission means.
Background art
The use of such systems is especially acknowledgment and simplification from digital pagers.
It consists in transmitting a signal like a simple response, but is not dedicated to this. As is well known,
Digital pagers have a small, low-capacity rechargeable battery, and receive signals from the pager.
If you want to send a signal, make that signal a low bit rate signal and compare this signal.
It is common to enable reception over a relatively large area.
To allow each pager to transmit the signal almost simultaneously,
It has been proposed to transmit as a spread spectrum signal.
In direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) systems, the spread sequence
Often, phase shift keying (PSK) is used as modulation for the sense.
The advantage of this is that the construction of the modulator is simplified. Reverse from pager
For some applications, such as directional channel communication, the cost of the modulator and
It is eager to lower it. Therefore, the voltage controlled oscillator (
It is interesting to consider the use of VCO). This is the normal PSK communication link
This is very common in the world. However, the sensitivity of the VCO (ie, voltage-frequency
Characteristic) is difficult to determine accurately, and this is determined by the chip data signal.
The phase shift introduced into the carrier contains a small additional error component unknown to each transmitted symbol
Means to do. However, large phase offsets can accumulate in a very short time.
Can be. The magnitude and polarity of the phase error are determined by the chip data
It depends on the case and does not correspond to a simple frequency offset. This phase error
The difference makes demodulation after despreading extremely difficult and can corrupt data. This
Such problems as described above, in practice, require demodulation over multiple chips to demodulate the DSSS signal.
This occurs because the phase of the spread signal needs to be estimated. On the other hand, ordinary PSK
Demodulation has negligible effect on small phase errors in the modulation process
This can be done for each symbol.
Disclosure of the invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide DSSS using two-phase PSK as the modulation for the spreading sequence.
The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate the occurrence of the accumulated phase error in the system.
According to a first aspect, the invention comprises a transmitter and a receiver, wherein the transmitter comprises a dc-free code.
Means for providing an encoded spread spectrum signal, and filtering the spread spectrum signal.
Filtering means coupled to an output terminal of the filtering means
An oscillator for supplying a transmission frequency signal of the transceiver, wherein the receiver is in a quadrature relationship.
Frequency down-conversion means for supplying a certain frequency down-conversion signal, and dc-free code
Means for providing a generalized spread spectrum sequence and frequencies in said quadrature relationship
Down converted signal and the dc-free coded spread spectrum sequence respectively
Respective mixing means having input terminals coupled to receive one;
Symbol estimating means having an input terminal coupled to the output terminal of the mixing means.
A communication system comprising:
The present invention of the second detection comprises means for supplying a dc-free coded spread spectrum signal;
Filtering means for filtering the spread spectrum signal;
An oscillator coupled to an output terminal of the transmitting means and supplying a transmission frequency signal of the transmitter.
A transmitter.
By using dc-free coded spreading sequences, the phase offset is cumulative.
As a result, the phase error that occurs during transmission has negligible effect.
I will not lose it.
If desired, provide a means for providing said dc-free coded spread spectrum signal.
A stage having first and second input terminals and an output coupled to the filtering means;
Mixing means having a first input terminal and a data source coupled to the first input terminal
Means for supplying a dc-free coded spreading sequence coupled to the second input terminal
And so on.
In an embodiment of the invention, the source of the spreading sequence is separate from the dc-free coding means.
However, in another embodiment of the present invention, the dc-free coded spreading sequence is
Memory, read it from memory and mix it with data from the data source.
Can be
One example of a dc-free encoder comprises a Manchester encoder, where
Is where each input bit is mapped to two bits of the alternation code, eg "1" becomes 01
, “0” becomes 10. With Manchester encoding, the spreading code is n bits
To 2n bits. An important aspect of this conversion sequence is that
The point is that the demodulation is accurate.
Optionally, each transmitter can supply multiple dc-free coded spreading sequences.
Each of these spreading sequences may be acknowledged or acknowledged, such as "yes" or "no".
Represents a given signal as a simple answer. each of the dc-free coded spreading sequences
Can be stored in read-only memory (ROM) and the transmitter has a code to read.
Select a specific one of the coding sequences and supply it to the filtering means
Means can be included.
The transmitter and receiver have a means of synchronizing the timing of the transmitted spreading sequence.
Steps can be provided. By doing so, in the spreading sequence
The starting point can be predetermined and therefore use the same spreading code, but
A group of simultaneously transmitting transmissions starting at different predetermined locations in the spreading sequence.
Use the starting point to identify and activate a particular transmitter from a transceiver
be able to.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
The invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIG. 1 is a phase diagram of a two-phase PSK,
FIG. 2 shows a transform method using Manchester encoding,
FIGS. 3A and 3B show two differences in dc-free encoding extending over 4 bits.
Here are some examples,
FIG. 4 shows a paging system controller coupled to a base station and a low speed
A digital pager having a transmitter for transmitting digital signals.

FIG. 5 shows a modification of the digital pager shown in FIG.
In the drawings, like reference numerals are used to indicate corresponding parts.
Embodiments for implementing the present invention
FIG. 1 shows a phase diagram for two-phase PSK. As is known, the phase is 180 ° or π
When shifting by radians, a transition from "1" to "0" or vice versa occurs. phase
If “1” and “0” shift to “1” and “0” as a result of the error,
The modulated signal can still be reproduced with high reliability. However, the phase error is cumulative.
The "1" signal is shifted below the abscissa and the "0" signal is
So that "1" is estimated as "0" and "0" is
Estimated as "1". Under normal circumstances, PSK is converted to a symbol like basic symbol
When demodulation is performed based on this, almost no accumulated error occurs.
However, if the spreading code has more “1” s than “0”, for example,
Code sequence has a part that has one binary number much more than the other binary number.
The spread code is no longer dc-free.
Is used, the phase error is accumulated and the demodulated signal is disturbed.
Will be incorrectly estimated and will fail to reproduce the modulated signal.
According to the present invention, each spreading sequence is encoded by a dc-free method for eliminating a DC component.
Therefore, the received signal becomes dc-free irrespective of the number of binary "1" and "0".
As a result, the accumulated phase error is eliminated, and the signal can be accurately estimated. Figure 2 shows the circumference
Fig. 4 shows a known form of dc-free encoding, which encodes positive transitions as 01 and negative
Is the Manchester encoding method in which the transition of the symbol is encoded as 10. This manchez
The effect of using interpolator coding is that the spreading sequence has n bits (or chips).
) Is 2n bits after encoding. Wireless channel
Since the bandwidth of the signal is finite, one effect of encoding the spreading sequence is
, To reduce the symbol transfer rate by half. Data that can tolerate lower data rates
Such as transmitting acknowledgments and simple responses in digital paging systems
There are certain applications.
3A and 3B illustrate how dc-free coding is implemented using 4 bits / symbol.
To show. In the case of FIG. 3A, the bit has the value 1100 and FIG.
, The bit has the value 1001. However, when integrating over 4 bits
In this case, the phase error generated at the binary "1" bit is large at the "0" bit.
Equal and counter phase error. Generally, from the original spreading sequence
Groups of n bits are mapped to m bits (where m is even) in the modification sequence
Is done. In addition, m bits are used to represent all possible patterns of n bits.
The pattern should be sufficiently clear and dc-free. Design DSSS system
In doing so, the correlation characteristics of the synthesized code should be stored.
