Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve workability by a method wherein a lower covering pipe is locked at a fluid pipe. SOLUTION: A lower covering pipe 3b is formed of elastic deformable synthetic resin and two side parts making contact with the outer peripheral surface of a fluid pipe 1 and an upper opening end is formed approximately in the shape of a half-cylinder positioned above the pipe axis of the fluid pipe 1. Thereby, when the covering pipe 3b is pushed against the fluid pipe 1 from below, locking is effected in a way that the two side parts are forced into pressure contact with the outer peripheral surface of the fluid pipe 1.

Next, the entirety of the leak prevention device 2 is moved to the damaged portion, and after surrounding the outer peripheral surface of the portion, the nuts are evenly tightened and fully mounted as shown in FIG. At this time, when a large amount of water leaks from the damaged portion and the tightening work is troublesome due to the water pressure in the cladding tubes 3a and 3b, the water stop cap 9 is loosened and drainage is performed from the drainage pipe 8. Good to do.

As described above, in the leakage preventing device 2 of the first embodiment, the lower covering tube 3b is formed of a resin to reduce the weight while making use of the fact that it can be elastically deformed. Locked on the outer peripheral surface of the tube 1. With this configuration, unlike the related art, it is not necessary to perform the tightening operation of the nut 13 while holding down the lower cladding tube 3b, and the workability is significantly improved.

FIGS. 5 and 6 show a second embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the upper and lower cladding tubes 3a and 3b are formed in substantially the same semi-cylindrical shape so as to be vertically symmetrically mounted on the water pipe 1, and the upper ends of the lower cladding tube 3b on both left and right sides. On both sides of the inner edge of the opening, a pair of C-shaped elastic locking pieces 14, 14 are continuously provided.

When the lower covering pipe 3b is pressed against the outer peripheral portion of the water pipe 1 from below, the respective elastic locking pieces 14 are elastically deformed in the radially expanding direction, and the upper end thereof is located outside the maximum of the water pipe 1. By falling over the diameter portion and pressing against the upper portion of the outer peripheral surface, the fall is prevented. Also in the second embodiment, there is no need to press down the lower cladding tube 3b, so workability is significantly improved.

In the above embodiment, the upper and lower cladding tubes 3a, 3b
Are made of a synthetic resin. For example, when the fluid pipe requires a large-diameter leakage prevention tool 2 with a large diameter and a large tightening strength, the upper cladding pipe 3a is made of a conventional cast iron. And only the lower cladding tube 3b may be made of synthetic resin.
In the embodiment, the annular tongue piece 15 is used as the inward projecting piece. However, the present invention is not limited to this, and it is also possible to provide one inwardly protruding portion or a plurality of such protruding portions.
