Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily operate a telephone set even at a narrow space by reducing the occupied volume when extending/contracting an extension part by providing plural electric connection contacts mutually connected to the extension part to slide in respect to a main body part, providing a common electric connection contact at the main body part and connecting both the electric connection contacts in the state of extending/contracting the extension part in respect to the main body part. SOLUTION: At the upper part of the front provided with a microphone 22 and operating keys 23 on a main body part 2, an extension part 3 equipped with a receiver 32 and an LCD 33 is held slidably from side to side. The extension part 3 has mutually connected metal contacts 8 and 9 and the main body part 2 has a common metal contact 7. The electric connection of main body part 2 and extension part 3 is performed between the metal contacts 7 and 8 in the state of housing the extension part 3 in the main body part 2 and performed between the metal contacts 7 and 9 in the state of elongating the extension part 3 to the right. Thus, the distance between the microphone 22 and the receiver 32 can be extended and constructed by a slide mechanism and without degrading convenience, the space to be occupied at the time of extention/contraction can be reduced.

When the extension unit 3 is extended, the telephone 1A
2 has the appearance as shown in FIG. 2, and the circuit has a connection structure as shown in FIG. The difference from the contracted state of the extension 3 shown in FIG. 3 is that the connection between the main body 2 and the extension 3 is not the connection between the metal contact 7 and the metal contact 8, but the metal contact 7 and the metal contact 9. This is the point where the connection is made. As described above, the metal contacts 8 and 9 are connected to each other and are in an electrically short-circuited state, so that the electrical connection state does not change between the extended state and the shortened state of the extending part 3.

As described above, in the telephone of the present invention, the distance between the microphone and the receiver can be adjusted by the slide mechanism, so that the length of the telephone can be shortened when stored without reducing the usability, and can be made compact. Since it can be stored, the volume of the space occupied during expansion and contraction can be reduced.
Also, the electrical connection does not change between the extended state and the contracted state of the extension part, and the slack of the flexible cable in the case of a connection structure that connects the main body part and the extension part using a flexible cable etc. is settled. It can be configured with a simple mechanism as compared to the case where there is a processing problem such as a need for space.
