In FIG. 2, the guide member 25 has a horizontal portion 26 extending in the horizontal direction and a vertical portion 27 extending in the vertical direction from the horizontal portion 26, and the horizontal portion 26 is mounted on the rear portion of the substrate 20. In this embodiment, there is one vertical portion and the horizontal portion has a T-shape. Reference numeral 28 denotes a vertical wall portion of the guide member 25 fixed to the rear portion of the substrate 20. One vertical portion of the guide member 25 and the two pad members 21 are arranged side by side in the direction perpendicular to the sheet feeding direction, that is, in the horizontal direction. It's almost equal to 2. An escape portion is formed between the two pad members 21. The width of the separation pad 21 is equal to or more than a minimum width required for separation when the sheet is separated by the cooperation of the feeding roller 1 serving as the separation pad 21.

The guide member 25 shown in FIG.
The rear end portion is at a high position, and the guide portion G is formed to incline downward as it goes forward (downward in the figure). In the normal use state, the pad member 21 is used with the left side in FIG. 2 (B) facing upward. Therefore, in this specification, it is assumed that the pad member 21 is higher as the distance from the surface of the pad member 21 to the left in FIG. Good, the opposite is low.

The guide member 25 is curved or bent so as to incline upward beyond the lowermost point after inclining downward. The lowest point is formed in the vicinity of a separation point P described later, and when not in use, the lowest point is preferably lower than the surface of the pad member 21; In use, it may be moved to a position lower than the surface of the pad member 21 by the pressing force from the feeding roller during use. A pressing portion A is provided near the leading end of the guide member 25 to urge the sheet fed separately from the sheet feeding roller 1. The pressing portion A is bent, but need not be bent. As shown in FIG. 2, the lateral portion 26 of the guide member 25 slightly covers a part of the rear of the pad member 21. The guide member 25 is made of metal, resin, or the like, has elasticity, and is curved so as to urge the sheet toward the feeding roller 1.

In this way, when the sheet bundle 5 is set on the mounting plate of the image processing apparatus, the leading end of the sheet bundle 5 is guided by the guide area G of the guide member 25 of the separation pad 2 (see FIG. It can be guided to the separation point P by the inclination of 2) and the rotation of the feeding roller 1. Therefore, the conventional middle plate (indicated by reference numeral 4 in FIG. 7) can be omitted due to the region G of the guide member 25.

(Third Embodiment) FIG. 4 is a schematic diagram of the present embodiment. In this embodiment, a very light elastic biasing member (for example, a mylar) 7 such as a spring is disposed upstream of the guide member 25 in the first and second embodiments. According to the present embodiment, the bundle of sheets 5 stacked in the paper feed port is reliably pressed against the feed roller 1 by the action of the urging member 7. Therefore, a poor paper feed (No Pick) in thick paper or lower curl paper (curl paper on the side opposite to the paper feed roller), which is a concern in the first and second embodiments, is eliminated. Further, even when the separation pressure is increased in order to secure a double feeding margin during sheet feeding, the feeding roller 1 and the urging member
As a result, the sheets can be reliably sent to the separation point P, so that the margin for double feeding is also increased. In the conventional system and the first and second embodiments, there is a trade-off relationship between paper feeding failure (No Pick) and double feeding.

Further, by providing the spring member 7, the sheet bundle 5 set in the paper feed port is always subjected to the pressure toward the feed roller 1, so that the setability is improved and the sheet bundle 5 remains on the loading table at the time of separation. The posture of the seat is stable. Therefore, the skew of the pick of the feed roller 1 due to the deviation of the left and right timing of the pick is reduced. Furthermore, even after the separation, the urging member 7 holds the portion of the sheet on the upstream side from the separation point P until the trailing end of the sheet passes through the urging member 7, so that the conveyance is stable.

Further, since the urging member 7 is a light and small part such as a mylar, it is not necessary to move the urging member 7 at the sheet feeding timing unlike the conventional middle plate 4, so that the configuration is simplified.

(Fourth Embodiment) FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a fourth embodiment. This embodiment is a modification of the third embodiment.
In this embodiment, the cross-sectional shape of the urging member 7 of the third embodiment is formed by cutting and raising 31 near the center in the width direction on the upstream side of the separation point P (not shown) of the guide member 25. By doing so, the same effect as that of the third embodiment can be obtained, and the number of parts can be reduced.
