Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device constituted to allow the easy removal of a metallic case for protection fixed by double coated adhesive tapes without the failure of the glass substrate and driver IC in a liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The rear surface metallic case 2 fixed by the double coated adhesive tapes 4 to the liquid crystal panel is provided with holes 7 within the adhesive surfaces of the double coated adhesive tapes 4. At the time of removing the rear surface metallic case 2 from the liquid crystal panel 1, a solvent, such as alcohol, is applied in these holes 7, by which the adhesive power of the double coated adhesive tapes 4 may be degraded and the easy removal of the rear surface metallic case is made possible without the failure of the glass substrate and driver IC of the liquid crystal panel 1. The efficiency of work, such as repair, may be improved. The number of the holes may be plural pieces and the shape of the holes may be circular, elliptic, polygonal or the shapes of arbitrary combinations thereof.
