【発明の効果】以上のように請求項1の発明において
は、中間転写体に対する潤滑剤供給を、中間転写体に対
して常時非接触状態にある非接触型潤滑剤供給装置によ
り実施するようにしたので、従来の接触型潤滑剤供給装
置で発生していた潤滑剤の均一供給不良や、中間転写体
表面の損傷等を発生させることなく潤滑剤の供給が行え
る。このため、トナーフィルミング等を有効に防止でき
る。請求項2の発明においては、非接触型潤滑剤供給装
置を導入することにより、潤滑剤供給動作による中間転
写体振動の発生を防止できるため、1次転写工程での転
写ブレを発生することなく、一連の画像形成動作の中の
一工程である中間転写体クリーニング動作と全く同一の
動作タイミングで潤滑剤を供給することが可能となる。
更に、潤滑剤供給のための特別な動作タイミングの設定
や、画像形成動作の一時中断等の複雑な制御も一切不要
となる。請求項3においては、非接触型潤滑剤供給装置
を中間転写体クリーニング装置の下流側にエア吸引口を
はさむ形で配置したことにより、中間転写体が回動中に
行われる中間転写体クリーニング部材の接離動作により
発生する飛散トナーと、中間転写体表面に付着せずに浮
遊している余剰潤滑剤粉末を同一のエア吸引口により同
時に吸引回収することができる。

According to the third aspect of the present invention, the non-contact type lubricant supply device is disposed downstream of the intermediate transfer member cleaning device with the air suction port interposed therebetween, so that the intermediate transfer member cleaning member is performed while the intermediate transfer member is rotating. The scattered toner generated by the contact / separation operation and the surplus lubricant powder floating without adhering to the surface of the intermediate transfer member can be simultaneously sucked and collected by the same air suction port.

【特許請求の範囲】[Claims] 【請求項1】 感光体上に形成したトナー画像を中間転
写体上に各色ごとに重ね転写してから、該中間転写体上
の重ねトナー画像を一括して転写紙上に転写して画像形
成を行うフルカラー画像形成装置であって、中間転写体
上に潤滑剤を供給する潤滑剤供給装置を備えたものにお
いて、 上記潤滑剤の供給作業を、中間転写体の表面に対して非
接触状態で対向設置した非接触型潤滑剤供給装置により
行うようにしたことを特徴とする画像形成装置。
