Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save the power consumption of a battery and to prolong a communication period by stopping power supply from an internal battery to an LCD and an LED packaged in a portable telephone set when the main body of the portable telephone set is held in a hand and a receiver is brought into contact with the ear of a carrying person in a communication state. SOLUTION: When a CPU 15 receives an incoming call through a TX1, communication is started and the carrying person holds this portable telephone set in the hand and brings a transmitter 2 to his/her own ear, by the sensing detection of touch sensors 11-1 and 11-2, a sensor reception part 10 sends out detection signals to the CPU 15. Then, the CPU 15 controls a switch part 12 and stops voltage supply from the battery 13 to the LEDs 9-1 and 9-2 and the LCD 7. Then, when the CPU 15 detects communication end from the TX1 and an RX3, the CPU 15 controls the switch part 12 again, supplies a voltage from the battery 13 to the LCD 7 and the LEDs 9-1 and 9-2 and lights the LCD 7 and the LEDs 9-1 and 9-2.

When the mounting bracket 114 for a mobile body is connected to the transceiver unit 112 and the handset 111, it is determined that the mobile body is used, and when the portable battery back 116 is connected, it is determined that the mobile body is used. This can be easily realized by providing a signal to the transceiver unit 112 at a connector for connection to the mounting bracket 114 for the moving body or the portable battery back 116. When carrying, the indicator of the light emitting diode 122 does not light up and is displayed only on the liquid crystal display 121. In addition, when the moving object is mounted, the liquid crystal display 121 is always lit and the light emitting diode 1 is turned on.
22 indicates the display content, and functions as an indicator indicating the state by turning on the light emitting diode 122.
