Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a synthetic resin adhesive which dries quickly and does not wrinkle a paper to be bounded by using a colloidal soln. of an acrylic ester copolymer, etc., as the self-adhesive component and by adding a polyvinyl alcohol soln. in an amt. twice that usually used, a suitable amt. of propylene glycol, and a surfactant to the colloidal soln. SOLUTION: This adhesive is prepd. in the normal way except that an aq. polyvinyl alcohol soln., prepd. by dissolving polyvinyl alcohol in hot water, in an amt. about twice that usually used is cooled and then mixed, under stirring, together with a suitable amt. of propylene glycol and a surfactant into the self-adhesive component. An example of the self-adhesive component is a colloidal soln. of a butyl acrylate copolymer. Polyvinyl alcohol has a function of stabilizing a tackifier emulsion, exhibits pressure-sensitive adhesive properties, and imparts properties similar to those of a gum arabic paste, etc., to the adhesive. The addition of polyvinyl alcohol in an amt. about twice that usually used (usually, in an amt. of 14-15%) inhibits water and a high-molecular compd. from permeating into a paper and prevents the occurrence of wrinkles at the bonded parts of the paper.

2. Description of the Related Art In the past, synthetic resin adhesives used for sticking paper for school use, home use, office use, etc., have been dried as quickly as possible by industry companies, and furthermore, the places to be stuck are not wrinkled. Efforts have been made to provide synthetic resin-based adhesives.

[0005] Further, when paper is bonded, wrinkles are generated at the bonding position. For example, when a cutout article such as newspaper or magazine is pasted on a scrapbook, wrinkles are generated at the bonding position for each page. The result is a thick scrapbook, which has the disadvantage of preserving it first.

Furthermore, when used in papermaking as a learning material for children and children, wrinkles occur at the places where the papers are stuck, and the paperwork dries in a wavy state, resulting in an unusual work. There was an inconvenience.

[0007] Conventional synthetic resin-based adhesives tend to cause an anchor phenomenon by permeating a polymer, which is a constituent component of the synthetic resin-based adhesive, with water as a solvent in order to increase the adhesive strength of paper, thereby causing anchorage. It was made based on the idea.
Therefore, conventionally, these inconveniences have been considered as inevitable inconveniences.

The present invention is based on the fact that a large amount of polyvinyl alcohol as an emulsion stabilizer is present in an emulsion of an acrylic ester, so that it is excellent in that it functions not only as an adhesive but also as a pressure-sensitive adhesive as an adhesive. This is based on the discovery that an adhesive can be obtained.

The pressure-sensitive adhesive according to the present invention can freely change the degree of tackiness by adjusting the amount of polyethylene vinyl alcohol mixed into the pressure-sensitive adhesive emulsion.
Its properties can be arbitrarily changed from a paste to a thin paste.
Further, the adhesiveness and adhesiveness can be arbitrarily adjusted according to the mixing ratio of the polyvinyl alcohol and the acrylate.
