PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify assembling of a chair provided with a lever for height adjustment to decrease the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A box-shaped fixed frame is provided on an upper end of a support formed by a gas spring 4, and a release button 6 to make the gas spring 4 freely expandable is formed projectingly within the fixed frame. A height adjusting lever 2 is inclinably supported by a pin 8 rotatably supported by a bearing member 7 provided within the fixed frame. The tip end of the height adjusting lever 2 is positioned over the release button 6 facing with it. An escape preventive member 23 is integrally formed with the back surface of a plate supporting board 11 fixed on a fixed frame by a screw 24. The escape preventive member 23 faces to the end of the pin 8 to prevent its escape.

み3から手を離すことでリリースボタン6が元に戻り空
気の出入が閉止され伸縮が出来なくなって座板1をその
高さに保持できるように構成されている。
