The mating tab 26 is inserted into the receptacle portion 11 of the electrical contact 1 from the tab entrance side (the left end side in FIG. 3), and is sandwiched between the contact plate 19 and the contact projection 18b of the elastic tongue piece 18. You. At the time of this insertion, FIG.
As shown in FIG. 7, even when the mating tab 26 is inserted obliquely from the bottom upward into the receptacle portion 11, the tab entrance-side distal end surface 22 of the lower ceiling wall 16b is turned into the tab entrance-side distal end surface of the cut-and-raised piece 17. Since the mating tab 26 is located on the inner side than the mating tab 21, the mating tab 26 can be smoothly inserted without abutting against the tab entrance side front end face 22 of the lower ceiling wall 16b. Here, the cut-and-raised piece 17 is an upright portion from which the lower ceiling wall 16b is connected to a free end on the upright side wall 15a side where the tab entrance side tip end portion 22 of the lower ceiling wall 16b of the receptacle portion 11 is connected to the upper ceiling wall 16a. As shown in FIG. 2, the cut-and-raised portion 17 is formed so as to be cut and raised over the side wall 15 b. Even when the lateral width We between the inner walls of the pair of upright side walls 15a and 15b is substantially equal and the lateral width of the mating tab 26 is substantially equal to the lateral width We between the inner walls of the pair of upstanding side walls, the mating tab 26 is not inserted at the time of insertion. Is difficult to abut against the tab entrance-side tip surface 22 of the lower ceiling wall 16b, and the insertion of the mating tab 26 can be easily performed. Also, the free end 17a of the cut and raised piece 17
Is placed on the upper end of the upright side wall 15a to which the upper ceiling wall 16a is connected, so that there is no gap between the lower surface of the free end 17a of the cut-up piece 17 and the upper end of the upright side wall 15a. When inserted into the receptacle part 11, there is no danger that the tip of the mating tab 26 enters the gap. Furthermore, since the inclined surface 24 is formed from the tab entrance side front end surface 21 of the upright piece 17 to the lower surface of the upright piece 17,
When the mating tab 26 is inserted, even if the tip of the mating tab 26 abuts on the inclined surface 24, the tip enters the inside of the receptacle portion 11 along the inclined surface 24, and the tab entrance of the lower ceiling wall 16b. From the side tip surface 22 to the lower ceiling wall 1
Since the inclined surface 25 is formed over the lower surface of 6b, the tip of the mating tab 26 that has entered the inside of the receptacle portion 11 along the inclined surface 24 further enters the inside of the receptacle portion 11 along the inclined surface 25.

According to the first aspect of the present invention, the front end of the lower ceiling wall at the tab entrance side of the receptacle portion extends from the upright side wall connecting the upper ceiling wall to the upright side wall connecting the lower ceiling wall. When the cut-and-raised piece is formed and the tab-entrance-side distal end surface of the cut-and-raised piece is substantially flush with the tab-entrance-side distal end surface of the upright side walls, the mating tab is inserted into the receptacle portion. Not only does the tip of this mating tab not abut against the tab entry side tip face of the lower ceiling wall, but also the tab entry side tip width of the lower ceiling wall located inside the tab entry side tip face of the cut-and-raised piece. And the width between the inner walls of the pair of upright side walls becomes substantially equal. Therefore, even when the width of the mating tab is substantially equal to the width between the inner walls of the pair of upright side walls, the mating tab is not inserted when the mating tab is inserted. It is difficult for the tip to abut the tip face on the tab entrance side of the lower ceiling wall Insertion of the mating tab can be easily performed.
In addition, since the free end of the cut-up piece is placed on the upper end of the upright side wall to which the upper ceiling wall is connected, there is no gap between the lower surface of the free end of the up-and-down piece and the upright side wall. There is no danger that the mating tab will enter the gap when the is inserted into the receptacle part. Therefore, there is no danger that the receptacle portion is deformed by the mating tab.

According to the second aspect of the present invention, an inclined surface is formed from the leading end surface of the standing piece to the tab entrance side to the lower surface of the standing piece, and the inclined surface is formed from the leading end surface of the lower ceiling wall to the tab entrance side. Since the inclined surface is formed over the lower surface, when inserting the mating tab, even if the tip of the mating tab abuts the inclined surface of the standing piece, the tip enters the inside of the receptacle part along this inclined surface Further, the tip of the mating tab enters the inside of the receptacle portion along the inclined surface of the lower ceiling wall, so that the mating tab can be more smoothly inserted into the receptacle portion.
